Peace, Love and Unity
We need to make some changes while we still can.
The hand painted sign (above) hangs prominently in the lunch room on the second floor at Blue Dragon where everyone including board members, staff, volunteers and children who happen to be at the center eat together daily. I love the intentional inclusiveness of this exercise of all of us sharing a healthy meal together and the message it clearly sends to all who participate in the Blue Dragon experience.
I specifically posted this image today of all days because I'm of the few Americans who I'm aware of currently living in Hanoi, Vietnam just days following a thankfully failed assassination attempt on the former president of the United States, Donald Trump.
I must preface the fact that I am not a politically minded person nor a fan of this man who has been unfairly compared to Adolph Hitler by highly educated lawmakers, corporate news outlets and others in the states. I'm also Jewish and can make this distinction based on historical events I'm deeply connected to. Let me say again that I do not like this man in any way, shape or form based on my limited but clear knowledge of him and how he has presented himself for decades in the public eye.
However my feelings about him personally, he is just another human being like the rest of us with all of his faults and gifts and in no way deserved to be the victim of such a horrendous crime. This incident is a stark reminder of the dysfunctionality and rampid mental instability coursing through the very blood of United States citizens and the degree of insanity that has taken hold of a political system that would make its founding fathers weep with grief at the death of a system of government intended to peacefully unite and include versus divide and conquer.
My hope for America is that Mr. Trump will indeed take full advantage of this inspired new lease on life he's been given and leverage the opportunity to radically change the course of human history through effectively demonstrating a will to promote Peace, Love and Unity bringing America and the rest of the world closer to the potential for collective goodness that we are capable of achieving.
